The Hebmüller was hit in the front in the past so the Aufbau plate is gone. The only thing that left is the Vin tag and a body nr. With the missing plate, we do not know when exactly it was built but it is most likely that it left the factory in august 1949. It was registered on 2 March 1956 with licence plate 6C-61132. (this is probably an US registration in Germany on a army service man) According to the bills and invoices from Münchener Automobil-Handels-GMBH (MAHAG) dated 04.07.1956 and 20.08.1956, all the modifications on the car were done around that year. Also the 356 wheels who sat on the car was stamped march 1956. The radio invoice is dated 15.10.55 and came with the car as bought by the current owner. So maybe the owner bought first the radio and then modified the dash and other things with an oval dash. As it is an early Hebmüller with rounded firewall top, it is clear that it should be a split dash. The radio antenna sits on the front right side. Porsche brakes, wheels and engine are installed. It was painted in a blue grey silver. The semaphore boxes are closed but not cut out. The car was owned by an US army captain Reardon Herbert H Landberg/APO 61 from the unit 731st USAF Disp , and he shipped the car to USA in 1957 when he turned home . The car was then painted gray. It was a common use by US Army Service man to repaint those Hebs before shipping . In the US it got the licence plate 7C-32462. The car was sold cheap by a car dealer in the 70`s without any top on it. Only the frame was on it. No cover. That owner restored the car to what it is today. An add was placed in magazine 1961 "Motor Trend Magazine". Car was located in the state of Minnesota. Seller was D.E Richards, 4416 Loretta lane Hopkins Minnesota for 1395 $ IT was bought it in Minneapolis in 1999 by the current owner and shipped to Norway but the Porsche engine is no longer in the car. As it is seen in the old magazine, the rear seat was not the regular one from Hebmüller. It was much lower and without a rear seat cushion. Just a flat wooden board with some carpet over it. Also as an extra, the seats are equipped with recliners so you could sleep in it. A gas heater was also installed to be sure to have warm in the Bavarian alps in winter. (PS)
